May 10th to May 17th and lots of Band

 

Ended the week here with Patton and Kennedy. I don’t know why this is the first picture because it should be the last one.

Kennedy had her end-of-the-year field trip to Camp Fimfo, a fun amusement-like park that is right next to our house. It has an Alpine slide and zip lines and putt putt golf course and a water park, etc. she had so much fun! The Elementary School also had their field day this week, where the fire trucks came and they had a cookout and played games outside with the whole school. I’m telling you what, these Texans know how to end a school year!

My hair after my perm. Just a little more body to it. (PS- I don’t know why this picture is on my camera roll, but it is a good example of what my hair is doing since my last blog post.)

Tripp.

I baked whole wheat bread. It wasn’t gross, but it also wasn’t the best. I’m going to perfect this recipe though.

Matt worked SO HARD to finish up a big project this week, and he did a great job!

The main events this week were all about Patton finishing out 8th grade.

Night of Percussion. Patton’s Symphonic Band performed a piece where Patton played the main melody. At the end, the conductor pointed to him and he got to wave.

Patton’s 8th Grade Graduation. He was in the pep band that got to go through the halls before the ceremony started. Doesn’t Patton look so peppy here?

Patton received The President’s Education award for outstanding academic excellence, along with his graduation certificate.

On to HIGH SCHOOL 😱

 

One more concert with the entire Symphonic band this time. 

A couple of blog posts ago I mentioned that Patton wasn’t sure he was going to continue band after this year. That has now been dramatically reversed. Patton auditioned at the request of his Middle School conductor and has been placed in the high school marching band’s Frontline Ensemble. Most of the summer will be spent at camps and I see a lot of football games in our future. It’s going to be a fun new chapter for everyone! Yay, Patton!
