Girl’s Camp, Birds, A Treehouse and Father’s Day

 Another busy week.

Kennedy attended Young Women’s Camp for her first time! In all the pictures they sent me she looked so big!

AI is creepy and cool at the same time.
This picture is on Kennedy‘s nightstand.

She made so many good friends! We really moved into a great ward.

The term “camp” is used loosely here. They stayed in an Airbnb and everyone had cute beds and in the backyard there was a swimming pool, a fire pit, a teepee, and a covered wagon.

While Kennedy was gone a hummingbird got stuck in our garage and wore itself out to the point where we had to carry it to the front yard, revive it with some sugar water, and then release it back into the wild. It was a pretty cool experience. We also learned that hummingbirds are not the smartest creatures.

And speaking of birds, Callahan finally earned all of the money needed to get her parakeets! She got two, but I only have a picture of one right now. This is the habitat she created for them. She found those sticks in our backyard from a certain kind of tree, then baked them in the oven to treat them. She is very into this.

This is Peep. He’s super chill, and even though he can fly around if he wants to he usually chooses to stay on a person. (Don’t mind our mid-remodeled bathroom in the background.)

Callahan’s other bird is blue. His name is Blue. He likes the cage more, which is probably why I don’t have a picture of him yet.

When we moved here in January I spent forever making doctors appointments that felt like they were scheduled for forever away. Well, now they are all rolling around. We visited this exact examination room three times last week- one for me, one for Bennett, and one for Callahan. I still have to go back two more times for Patton and Kennedy. I hate how they are doing this process, but at least we have a doctor now!

Still lots of swimming. This is actually at the “summer camp” we are doing for Callahan‘s Primary Activities.

The boys helped out with a service project of some kind.

There are so many baby deer in our neighborhood! It’s so cute to see them all toddling around.

On Friday and Saturday we got serious about the treehouse. We only got the basic platform up (and that’s not even finished yet) but the kids are really excited about it.

Breakfast in our forest.

This group went to the Temple Saturday night.

Matt is selling his pick up truck and we got this little car instead. It gets 50 miles to the gallon. I mean, it’s nice on the inside and everything, but mostly we just love it because it gets 50 MILES TO THE GALLON.

Look at all of that beautiful fuel efficiency.

After the dealership I went to Trader Joe’s for the first time in my life because it was right next-door. Guess what? It’s a grocery store.

Happy Father’s Day to Matt! Kennedy made him a blanket, he got his traditional shirt and a card (and a car) but the BEST gift of all was he passed Phase One of the Police Academy! He needed an 80% to move on and he passed with an 80%…by the skin of his teeth. About 10 other people failed the program this week. The numbers are going down, but Matt is still hanging in there! And we are officially one month closer to being done.. keep the prayers coming!

Have a great week!
