First Half of July Randomness
While I wait for Kennedy in her Sylvan tutoring sessions I routinely will take a nap in the back of the car. I have a very special talent at being able to sleep pretty much anywhere at any time.
Our garden is so sad. We literally killed everything somehow except for these random cantaloupe we planted on accident. They are perfect... too bad no one in our family are huge cantaloupe fans.
This is Oscar. I came home from work to find him living in the girls closet. I guess our cat ate his sibling and the girls rescued him. Turns out he’s a baby mourning dove and the only way to feed a baby mourning dove is to let them put their entire heads inside their mother‘s mouth and they drink their stomach contents. So basically, Oscar didn’t live very long. But we tried.
Our “North Dakota” sunflower got eaten alive by a crazy swarm of caterpillars that came and left within one day.
We went to a snake show at the library.
The boys acted like they were too cool, but I could tell they were interested. Both the girls were openly into it.
Matt‘s picture as Class Sergeant on the Police Academy’s website. Honestly, this could be our last week as I write this. It won’t be the end of the world if we are pushed back to the next class, it just messes with our time frames and would be really frustrating. Keep the prayers coming!
Callahan. She’s such a lady.
I am constantly finding nature pictures on my phone.
Going to 7-Eleven on July 11 (7/11) for free slushies
Callahan helped me paint the guest bathroom and I put up wallpaper in our back entryway. Little by little!
Patton helped me make this.
On our way to run errands one night, Kennedy and I saw this random guy riding down the street on a Longhorn. I really don’t know why he was doing it, but we enjoyed the show.
More swimming. Indoors this time.
Cowboy Callie.
My parents assigned each of my siblings and their families to do a report of some kind on an assigned ancestor from our family tree, then we would present what we had prepared to everyone at the family reunion. But since we couldn’t attend the reunion this year, we put ours on YouTube for them to watch. The kids made this 80% on their own while I was at work. I got lots of text messages about how stupid it was, and how nobody was cooperating, and how they were just going to quit, but it all came together in the end 😅
