St. Patrick’s Day and Other Things

Last Sunday night Matt and I had the opportunity to go with friends to dinner and then to an Il Divo concert at the Tobin Center in downtown San Antonio.

VIP section, front row seats. So amazing!

I didn’t really know who these guys were before going to their concert, but I am a big fan now! Their voices were incredible.

Their orchestra was incredible, too.

So talented. Such a fun night!

Monday morning. Back in routine.

I forgot to post about this last week. Callahan announced to me one day that she was going to make Kennedy a stuffed animal hamster. I took her to Hobby Lobby and while I looked at picture frames, she found the supplies she needed, talked to people, got the right amount of fabric cut, and paid for everything. Then she went home and made this little guy completely from her own imagination and with zero help from anybody. Which is good, because I really don’t know how to sew at all. If she had asked me for help I was prepared to YouTube answers. When this girl gets an idea in her head, she is unstoppable.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! The leprechaun forgot us, but Mom came in clutch running to the grocery store and buying anything green, gold, or rainbow themed. We ate this for dinner and watched Luck of the Irish on Disney Channel. Nobody felt good about it afterwards. We might need to find a new tradition.

Another Bennett masterpiece from floral design in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.

I came about one foot from stepping on this guy. It’s just a garden snake, but you better believe I backed up pretty fast 😅

The elementary school hosted an art appreciation night with plays, concerts, and artwork done by all the kids. Kennedy’s self portrait.

Callahan’s bird.

You know you are in Texas when there is an ammo vending machine in your small town grocery store.

A cardinal visited the girl’s window and I caught a picture.

On Saturday we decided it was time to get serious about our yard. There is SO much work to be done out here, but we needed to start somewhere! We filled up an entire rented dumpster with just trash and random stuff we found laying around our property. A little at a time…

Taking out a garden box.
Our kids are no strangers to power tools.

There are several trees in our yard that are producing puff balls, and I love them.

We ended the week with a trip to the temple. Matt, Patton and Kennedy went with the youth. I did a session on my own. Callahan read books and watched movies in the parking lot in the car. She is such a trooper.

Bennett spent a lot of this week in North Dakota attending his junior prom. He got a blog post all to himself for that.

HAVE A HAPPY WEEK!
