Life and Another Prom

We began prepping the garden this week. We won’t be able to plant anything until we get a fence up because there are so many deer here, but it’s a start!

Patton. Just being Patton.

Callie’s tadpoles are… gross. Like, why do they have those white things on them? Google has no idea. I want them to be released, but Callahan is insisting we wait until they start to get their legs in a few more weeks. I feel like we’ve already had them forever.

Patton took me on a date to see the new Mario movie. He bought the tickets, I bought the treats. My review: don’t see the Mario movie unless you’re REALLY into Mario and don’t mind a movie with absolutely no plot point. My favorite part was being with Patton and the popcorn, so I’d go again.

Honey Biscuit continues to be cute.

Callahan took a picture of the sunrise one morning.

Guess who’s getting glasses? Just for reading (and I don’t even think they’re super necessary) but Callahan is SO excited. She is literally counting down the days until they arrive.

The rest of us were checked out too, but with less exciting results. The VR eye test was fun.

Matt and I attended another charity event, this time for CASA.

This is how I actually look 90% of my life.

The most fun thing this week was Liz coming down from North Dakota to go to Bennett’s Jr. Prom with him. She was here for a few days and we had a lot of fun hanging out with her, although we took almost zero pictures.

Going to Wafflelicous before the eye doctor.

Heading out to hike around Enchanted Rock.

On Saturday I exercised my iPhone photography skills and we did a little photo shoot on the road at the bottom of our hill.

It was raining and chilly, but these two were great sports.

This corsage actually fell apart a few seconds before I took this picture. Liz almost fell into the river (I’m SO glad she didn’t!) and swung her arms around to catch herself, flinging the flowers off and into the water. We retrieved them and set them carefully back on top of what was remaining of her corsage, took this picture (see the drops of water coming off of it?) then ditched the corsage for the rest of the shoot.

Bennett’s boutonniere had a hard time staying on, so he just tucked it into his pocket.

Such good little models and even better friends.
We took lots more pictures, I just put only a few up.

We had to keep running to the side of the road every time a car came.

On one of our runs to the side, Bennett’s boutonnière fell off and three cars and a motorcycle made direct contact with it before we could get it back.

After that it matched Liz‘s corsage—just leaves and ribbon. They still made them look good.

All in all, it was a very exciting photo shoot, and a really fun week.
