The other night Matt and I were a little bored so we decided to have a little fun with our current resources. However, we couldn't quite agree on if we should honor March Maddness with a basketball, or Easter with an egg...so we ended up doing both!

March Maddness Vs. Easter!

Our HOME!!!
Now, because I am so technically advanced, I think I put all these pictures in out of order. So to get the full affect from the front of the house to the back, feel free to scroll down now and then work your way back up to here.
Anyway, keep your hands and arms inside at all times, and enjoy the tour! :)

Yes...I am a diabetic :)
It's really not as bad as it sounds though, it is just annoying as heck. Matt and I have a deal that as soon as this baby gets here (and I mean immediately after delivery) he will bring me a LARGE BOX of ice cream snickers...which is something I have been craving and not allowed to eat for the last couple of weeks. Maybe a couple of Wendy's baked potatoes too. I am also vowing to become a vegetarian after this diet that forces me to eat meat about 12 times a day. :)
For those who are worried about the baby, don't be. He is just as safe and healthy as ever. Gestational diabetes really only affects his size (he can get too big) so they are tracking that carefully. Other than that though, all is well in the whomb.
So anyway, sorry if I forgot to mention this to anybody. It has been an interesting experience for me. I promise I will try to keep you all posted on any new exciting changes involving my body in the upcoming months! Eat protein!

(BACK WITH A VENGEANCE)
Groundhog Day is an annual holiday celebrated on Feburary 2 in the United States and Canada on which folklore tells if a ground hog emerges from its burrow and fails to see its shadow because the weather is cloudy, winter will soon end. If on the other hand, it is sunny and the groundhog sees its shadow, the groundhog will supposedly retreat into its burrow, and winter will continue for six more weeks.
Modern customs of the holiday involve celebrations where early morning festivals are held to watch the groundhog emerging from its burrow. Social events in which food is served, speeches are made. German is the offical language spoken at the event, and those who speak English pay a penalty, usually in the form of a nickel, dime or quarter, per word spoken, put into a bowl in the center of the table
The largest Groundhog Day celebration is held in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania where crowds as high as 40,000 have gathered to celebrate the holiday since at least 1886.

Now a lot of people people have seen or heard of the absolutly hilarious movie called "Groundhog Day". After a long day of work I come home to my sweet wife who has an exciting Family Home Evening activity planned for us.
We watched the movie to the left and made the cutest little groundhogs out of cupcakes, marshmallows, mini nilla wafers and of course chocolate frosting. Haley is just cute like that.

"TIN STAR RANCH"
Well last weekend was the big shoot for Wayne and I. We had to be in Fredricksburg (which is about an hour and half from our house) by 0830 or we couldn't shoot. I had to go into work at Ft Sam to administer a P.T. test to a bunch of new soldiers at 0430 so my day started early but ended fantastic.
Wayne's name is "Iron Sights" and mine is the "Pecos Kid"

-Haley was a great supporter and little Bennett slept through the whole thing-

-No this little beauty has an interesting story. This rocker belonged to a friends Grandma who passed away a few years ago. Matt used go over to her house and would do little chores and she would make the most wonderful, homemade, Mexican food. The family was moving to Florida and had to get rid of it. Matt picked it up, refinished it and Mary and Haley cut and stitched the cushions together. It's pretty cute though.-

Some Photos...because I am good at this Blog thing
Happpiness... :)
This might seem like such a little thing, but it is a little thing that has happened too few times in the last seven months. Matt and I have officially been married for 1 year, 4 months, and 10 days as of today, but of that time we have spent approximately 4 1/2 months of it apart.
Over this time we celebrated the 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and my birthday apart.
I went back to school and finished my degree in Communications as a "single" college student. We began building a house in Texas, which I have yet to see. I also went to several maternity visits and through morning sick days without a husband. Matt found out we were having a boy over his cell phone.
But we are together again now, and I love it. We have spent time with just the two of us, driving, shopping, and talking about our new litttle boy. We have eaten, slept, and sat together. We have held hands. :)
It is amazing how much I love this person, and it is amazing that I don't have to call him on the phone to tell him that! I am really, and truly, happy, and I know that Heavenly Father has blessed me much more than I deserve. I thank him everyday.
Also, thank you so much to all those people who have loved and supported me during these sometimes very hard times. My wonderful family, who made me feel like I had never left home in the first place. Who fed me and clothed me, and helped me through the rough patches. Who loved me unconditionally.
To Matt's family, who did the same and made me feel like I was in a place I had always known, even though I had never been there before. Who called and updated me while I was away, and who are so lovingly welcoming us both back into their home.
To my fantastic friends, who listened to me complain but never let me wallow too long in my own self-pity. Who took me with them to play, and who cheered me on in all I was doing.
These last few months were probably the hardest thing I have ever done...and I am so lucky. I am so blessed. Thank you so much. Thank you.
-Haley
